Carrier Gas Package Unit Replaced by Trane Dual Fuel System

Briarwood Subdivision, Bowling Green, KY

Carrier Gas Package Unit

This older Carrier Gas Package Unit had been installed right beside the back patio.  When the new home owner saw it, they instantly knew it would be one of the first things they changed about their home.  They contacted their home comfort provider, Gra-Tac Heating & Cooling and decided on replacing the Carrier package system with a new split system – Trane Dual Fuel system.

As well as moving the system around the corner of the house, from the patio, Gra-Tac also installed a separate Trane Heat Pump system for a Great Room that was added.  The Great Room had previously just had a couple registers off the main system, which was undersized for the now larger home.

Above, a Trane XB14 Heat Pump, with a matching indoor coil and gas furnace (Trane XV95) under the house – this system should be over 50% more efficient than the existing Carrier Gas Package unit.  As well with the addition of an XB13 Heat Pump for the Great Room, the house now has properly sized Heating and Air Conditioning Systems.

The home owner also got to take advantage of several programs in this installation:  Starting with the Federal Tax Credit of $500, Kentucky State Tax Credit of $350 (including $100 for Floor Insulation), TVA Energy Right incentives of $500, and even a Gas Company Rebate of $425 for the 96% AFUE Gas Furnace and a Programmable Thermostat.

Then on top of better comfort, cleaner air, and quieter installations… they will be saving money each month on their Bowling Green Utility Bills – Electric and Natural Gas Bills.
